What? Who? Why?
When I first started training in martial arts (Wado-Ryu Karate, in case you wondering), I often times went home with bruised forearms and a sore stomach. For a someone training in martial arts, we all know that this is some type of trophy to us. There were a few problems with this, though:
1. Bruised or pain in parts of our body are signs that something is not right. This requires time to heal and thus requires to take your training more lightly or stop training all together for a short time.
2. As beginners, we always held our punches back when we were targeting the solar plexus. This lead to inadequate training and the false impression that our techniques would work on anything that resembled a real attack.
3. Having that gi rub on you training after training really took its toll on my skin. What a pain!
Now that I am part of Oronin Wear, I wanted to create something that addressed these issues and looked like something the new age martial artists could wear with pride. I wanted something that allowed martial artists to train longer, harder, and smarter (Spoiler: this is our tagline). So here's what we've got. I guess this is what you would call the big reveal.
Oronin Wear Armor
Train longer. Train Harder. Train Smarter.
Here are a few specifics:
Protective gel padding on forearms and solar plexus
Adult and Children Sizes
Options to purchase with or without the padding
You probably have a million questions, but here are a few I can answer now:
Q: Is this just an idea now?
A: No, we're working out the details with a manufacturer.
Q: What sizes will be available?
A: We'll have sizes for adult and children. So, if you're a woman and don't feel like you can use this, you can definitely grab one for the little ones.
Q: I don't need padding for my training, but I love the design. What can I do?
A: Yes! There will be two options as part of this series. You can purchase as a regular rash guard or purchases with padding.
Q: I live outside the USA. Can I still buy one?
A: Yes, but you will have to pay for the shipping. We currently go based off of weight until we figure a way to get our international customers the products at a lower cost.
Q: How much will this cost?
A: Much less than what you pay for a high-quality gi or monthly dues.
Q: Enough with the bull. When can I get this?
A: Patience, my friend. We're looking for a mid to late May launch.
Please share this post down below. We want this to be a success and to keep people training in martial arts for as long as possible. We all know how much they can change lives, so let's spread the word.
